The House :
The house where the hostel is located, was built in the 1960s. Made totally from wooden cedar.
In 2006
A Mexican girl came as a researcher to Tambopata. To help in the Macaw Project. After her experiences in Puerto Maldonado and meeting a local guide. She decided to stay and start her own project.
She and her partner, decided to built a hostel in this house.
After 6 months of intense refurbishment and construction, they opened the first and the only Backpacker Hostel in town. In May 2008.
