Day 1.

Tours Lake Sandoval, We will begin the excursion with a delicious breakfast at the hostel at 7:00am. Then we will walk five minutes to the dock of the river “Madre de Dios” where our boat and motorist will take us down the river,de viaje crossing over the Tambopata River. After an hour in the river we will arrive at the entrance of the Tambopata National Reserve. After registering at the control point, we will walk about an hour along a trail to arrive at a canal, which connects, to tours Lake Sandoval. Then we will travel via canoe, rowing around the lake and enjoying to the max and getting the most out of our time there. We continue rowing around the edge of this beautiful lake, full of wildlife: incredible insects, small birds and very large, exotic colorful ones. We will observe monkeys in their natural habitat, eating, playing, sleeping, or simply jumping from tree to tree.

There is also a family of giant river otters living in tours Lake Sandoval . Then we will have dinner, and probably go to sleep because the following day will be very long, full of new experiences.


We will wake up very early and, using flashlights, we will travel via canoe, tours sandoval lake, and later by foot to observe parrots, parakeets, and macaws. They are very intelligent birds and they congregate in the same place every sunrise to look for minerals in order to neutralize the toxins from the fruits, vegetables, and seeds that they caminataeat each day. It’s a really beautiful place and we will spend a while there talking, taking photos, and taking in the view. We will return to the local family’s home for a complete breakfast and then after a short rest we will walk through a forest, which has been left tours sandoval lakealmost untouched by the locals. In the afternoon we will follow a new route along the lake to get to an observation tower and from there we will have an amazing view of nearly the entire lagoon. We will try to find new types of monkeys and look for a sloth in their favorite trees.

We will go back to have dinner, this time a little bit earlier than the first day, since after dinner we will have a really great night walk. We will look for insects, frogs, and maybe even some snakes or tarantulas that always appear in the night.


You choose the time you would like to wake up and begin the day. If you wish we can go for a walk before breakfast or you can sleep in until breakfast – it is entirely up to you and how you would like to enjoy your guacamayovacation. After breakfast we will go on a new walk to a totally different place, where wetours sandoval lake can talk about the use of some medicinal plants – there are A LOT and I will only mention the most important ones, the ones that we use the most and that are guaranteed to work. We will also try some natural, wild fruits of the jungle, depending on the season, and we will definitely be able to taste some larva and termites to end the excursion. This walk will take about three hours as well.

We will have lunch and then rest before getting ready to head back to Puerto. We’ll go back to Puerto the same way we came at about 4:00pm – it could be a little earlier or a little later, as needed.
