Day 1: Welcome to the Tambopata Jungle!
- Arrive in Puerto Maldonado, capital of Madre de Dios, and join a 2-hour bus and a 1/2 boat journey to the lodge. A local welcome drink and a short friefing about the lodge will be served.
- Collpas Tambopata Inn awaits– a spacious friendy eco-lodge, with bar, a swimming pool, and buffet service in the limit of National Reserve of Tambopata, being the fartest lodge from Puerto Maldonado surrounded by monkeys and several bird species.
- Accommodation includes rooms from 24 mts to 68 mts suites with a private bathroom and an open window facing the forest.
- Your stay includes three meals daily, teas, coffee, guided excursions and activities, refreshments upon arriving, and transfers to and from the airport. We assign guides on private small groups of 10:1
- This afternoon join the introductory a two to three-kilometer hike in a primary forest, information about the most important medicinal plants and the same time GREAT chances to spot seven different species of monkeys and different birds that will make your jungle walk unforgettable. At The visit to our 50 mts canopy tower will complete this first experience. Our new Canopy bridge is also in the way ;-)
- You will have the option of taking the boat in the evening and spot withe and black caymans along the Tambopata River, is an Amazing exprience to see the reptail in its main habitat .
Day 2: Join a party at Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick
- On most clear mornings of the year, dozens of large macaws and hundreds of parrots congregate on this large river bankin a raucous and colorful spectacle that inspired a National Geographic cover story. Discretely located fifty meters from the cliff, we will observe Green-winged, Scarlet, and Blue-and-gold Macaws and several species of smaller parrots descend to ingest clay. Outings are at dawn when the lick is most active.
- We will propose to go for an adventure, we will go for Kayaking in the river or the stream depending on your expectation, is a nice activity also with big chances to see Capibaras, turttles and river birds during this afternoon activity.
- hiking out at night when most of the mammals are active but difficult to see. Easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories.
Day 3: Explore the Mammal rainforest
- This five-kilometer trail covers the prototypical rain forest with immense trees crisscrossed by creeks and ponds. Amongst the figs, ceibas, and shihuahuacos we will go for the mammal clay lick …Squirrel, Brown Capuchin, and red howler Monkeys as well as peccaries. Collpas Tambopata Inn is located within this habitat.
- It is time to say goodbye, as the expedition comes to an end.
- Your visit will make a direct contribution to Wired Amazon and the National Reserve of Tambopata.
- You will take the journey back to the city to the bus station or airport for your national flight onwards
